Villa La Angostura, Argentina
Villa La Angostura is a small lakeside retreat on the north shore of Lake Nahuel Huapi and serves as the base to ski and snowboard Cerro Bayo. Located an hour from Bariloche, Villa La Angostura is a quiet, charming village with several restaurants, shops and plenty of chocolatiers. Wooden gnomes are scattered about and the architecture has a distinctly tree house feel.
Cerro Bayo promotes itself as a ‘boutique’ ski center. The resort offers sensational views of Lake Nahuel Huapi and the surrounding Andes. Although the terrain in bounds at Bayo is limited, there are many off piste skiing and snowboarding opportunities. This terrain is a perfect introduction to backcountry lift accessed skiing and snowboarding. This mom and pop resort is a great escape from any hustle and bustle and is an incredibly aesthetic location to ride!
